The Last Mile Consortium: Three is no longer a crowd - it's a necessity

How do you get the greatest minds in logistics, transport, retail and last mile delivery together in one room? You feed them a delicious breakfast before inviting them to reveal their innermost frustrations about why the industry is in dire need of transformation.

Last week PostTag brought together 25 members of the Last Mile Consortium to discuss the evolution of last mile partnerships.

The conversation, the latest in a series of industry-led forums, centred on the growing opportunities for collaboration between brands, distributors and startups to create impactful change - and how far we’ve yet to go.


With a conversation lead by ArrowXL’s James Robbins, and fuelled by coffee, bacon and avocado on toast the conclusion of the breakfast can best be summed up by this quote:

“The market is simply not set up or ready for the partnership culture we’ll need to fix the last mile,” said one of the participants in the LMC discussion.

“We’ll start with any retailer open to working with us but it could five years before the market really opens up.”
